Preflight Handoff Audits

Description

Preflight Handoff Audits helps WordPress builders and agencies review a site before launch or client handoff.

Run a read-only scan, identify high-risk pages, work through Build Mode, open Fix Coach for page-specific guidance, complete the manual checklist, and generate internal or client-facing handoff reports.

What Preflight helps you do

  • Audit published pages, posts, and WooCommerce products before launch or delivery.
  • Find content, layout, form, link, access, mobile, WooCommerce, and deployment readiness issues.
  • Prioritize the highest-risk pages using the Overview and Build Mode.
  • Open supported editors with page-specific guidance through Fix Coach.
  • Complete a structured manual handoff checklist.
  • Generate internal and client-facing handoff reports.

Built for the working phase

Preflight is designed for use throughout a WordPress build, not only during the final hour before launch. Compare scans, track resolved issues, identify repeated patterns, and focus on what should be fixed next.

Read-only and local

Preflight does not automatically rewrite content or change site settings. Scan results and checklist progress are stored locally in WordPress and are not sent to an external scanning service.

Supported workflows

Preflight includes targeted checks for WordPress content, WooCommerce, common launch settings, client access risks, Elementor, Divi, Contact Form 7, WPForms, Elementor Forms, and Divi Contact Form modules.

Core promise

Find layout, content, and handoff issues before your client does.

FAQ

Does Preflight change my website?

No. Preflight scans are read-only. The plugin does not automatically rewrite content, change settings, create orders, submit forms, or modify WooCommerce products.

Does scan data leave my website?

No. Scan results, scan history, and checklist state are stored locally in WordPress. Preflight does not send scan data to an external scanning service.

Which content types are scanned?

Preflight scans published pages and posts. WooCommerce products are also included when WooCommerce is active.

What does Preflight check?

Preflight reviews common handoff risks involving content, headings, placeholder links, forms, images, mobile layouts, WooCommerce settings, client access, security readiness, performance and SEO readiness, and deployment preparation.

The checks are intended to guide a manual review. They do not certify that a site is accessible, secure, optimized, or launch-ready.

Which page builders and form plugins are supported?

Preflight includes targeted checks and Fix Coach workflows for common WordPress editors, Elementor, Divi, Contact Form 7, WPForms, Elementor Forms, and Divi Contact Form modules.

Support depends on the information each plugin or builder exposes in stored or rendered content.

Can I create a client report?

Yes. Preflight includes an Internal view and a cleaner Client view. Reports can be copied, printed, or saved as PDF using the browser print dialog.

Does Preflight replace SEO, security, accessibility, or performance tools?

No. Preflight identifies common handoff and launch-readiness risks. It complements specialist SEO, security, accessibility, performance, and vulnerability tools rather than replacing them.

What is Build Mode?

Build Mode is the daily working view after a scan. It highlights what to fix next, which pages need attention, what changed since the previous scan, and repeated patterns that may be worth fixing together.

What is Fix Coach?

Fix Coach is a small helper panel that opens on supported editor or builder URLs from a Fix action. It shows the page-specific issue list, can try to highlight matching elements, and includes a Back to Preflight link.

Does the handoff checklist change the scan score?

No. The manual checklist progress is shown separately from the Preflight score.

  • Kept this release narrowly focused on checklist persistence verification/fix work without changing scanner checks, scoring rules, issue categories, REST endpoints, database schema, reports, Build Mode, licensing, telemetry, external HTTP calls, frontend visitor output, content writes, WooCommerce writes, form/email/order/cache/SEO/image writes, or premium gating.

0.13.0

  • Prepared the plugin as a first public beta / WordPress.org release candidate with clearer readme positioning, privacy notes, limitations, FAQ, and handoff workflow guidance.
  • Expanded release validation to check required files, package hygiene, optional ZIP root structure, and Preflight premium asset-name cleanup.
  • Lightly tightened builder-facing copy while preserving Build Mode, Fix Coach, Findings, Checklist, and Handoff Report behavior.
  • Kept this release-candidate pass hardening-only: no scanner checks, scoring rules, issue categories, REST endpoints, database schema, licensing, telemetry, external HTTP calls, frontend visitor output changes, content writes, WooCommerce writes, form/email/order/cache/SEO/image writes, or premium gating were added.

0.12.2

  • Hardened Divi Visual Builder Fix Coach persistence so the page-specific coach payload can survive delayed builder replacement and rehydrate from same-origin bootstrap, inline, URL, or storage context.
  • Strengthened single-instance Fix Coach guards across the top document and same-origin builder frames so Divi builder retries do not create duplicate panels.
  • Kept this release narrowly focused on Divi Fix Coach persistence without changing scanner logic, scoring, issue detection, categories, REST endpoints, reports, checklist semantics, Build Mode structure, external HTTP behavior, telemetry, licensing, frontend content, or write actions.

0.12.1

  • Reduced urgent H1 false positives by recognizing stored block/Divi H1 evidence and treating ordinary titled posts, pages, products, and WooCommerce archive contexts more conservatively.
  • Tightened Link & CTA Readiness so product CTA mismatch checks apply only to manually-authored button-like CTAs, not WooCommerce product loops, menus, navigation, cart/account/search UI, breadcrumbs, pagination, or builder/admin controls.
  • Improved same-site internal URL resolution for scheme, www/non-www, trailing slash, decoded paths, relative URLs, WooCommerce endpoints, product routes, and taxonomy routes.
  • Hardened Fix Coach highlighting so missing-H1 issues fall back calmly and Show me where searches editable page content or builder canvas before any generic matching.
  • Calmed Build Mode by limiting Pages to finish, simplifying progress lists, and keeping Fix as the primary action with View secondary and Edit as fallback.

0.12.0

  • Evolved the Progress tab into Build Mode while preserving the existing prefhaau_tab=progress fallback.
  • Added Today’s build focus, Pages to finish, simplified Since last scan progress, and Repeated patterns sections using existing scan results, Fix URLs, scan history, filters, and checklist state.
  • Added a compact dashboard Build focus summary and light internal report wording for build-progress context.
  • Kept the release UI/workflow-only: no scanner checks, scoring rules, issue categories, REST endpoint behavior, database schema, external HTTP calls, telemetry, frontend output changes, content writes, form/email/order/cache/SEO/image writes, checklist storage semantics, licensing, or gating were changed.

0.11.3

  • Fixed Back to Preflight focus preservation by safely encoding the nested admin return URL carried through editor and builder Fix URLs.
  • Improved returned-finding focus so the related Findings row is revealed before scrolling and focus styling is applied.
  • Hardened Divi Visual Builder Fix Coach rehydration so delayed builder frame loads converge to one coach panel.
  • Kept the release workflow-only: no scanner checks, scoring rules, issue categories, REST endpoints, database schema, external HTTP calls, telemetry, frontend output changes, content writes, form/email/order/cache/SEO/image writes, licensing, or gating were changed.

0.11.2

  • Improved Back to Preflight reliability from normal editor and builder Fix Coach contexts with a concrete same-site admin return URL, top-level navigation where allowed, and a plain fallback link.
  • Simplified Fix Coach wording around “Fix this page”, issue progress, clearer recommendations, “Show me where”, and “Next match on page”.
  • Reduced dashboard comparison noise by keeping detailed progress in the Progress tab and hiding redundant “Still open” row labels when every finding is simply still open.
  • Lightly simplified Client and Internal report flow by avoiding nearby duplicate score/status blocks and keeping long detailed findings lower in the report.
  • Kept the release workflow/UI/UX-only: no scanner checks, scoring rules, issue categories, REST endpoints, database schema, external HTTP calls, telemetry, frontend output changes, content writes, form/email/order/cache/SEO/image writes, licensing, or gating were changed.

0.11.1

  • Added a single-instance Fix Coach guard for editor and builder contexts so one visible panel is rendered per page load.
  • Improved Fix Coach persistence for Divi and builder navigation by preserving Preflight focus, post, return, and Divi Visual Builder context through async initialization and URL changes.
  • Simplified finding row actions so safe editable findings show Fix and View, while Edit remains a fallback when Fix cannot be generated safely.
  • Polished Fix Coach overflow behavior so the panel remains compact, usable, and builder-friendly with persistent header and action controls.
  • Kept the release workflow-only: no scanner logic, scoring, issue detection, categories, REST endpoints, checklist state, database schema, scan history behavior, report data logic, external HTTP behavior, telemetry, licensing, public visitor output, or content/form/email/order/cache/SEO/image writes were changed.

  • Added a compact Since last scan summary, Progress dashboard tab, Findings row labels, Handoff Report progress sections, Copy summary progress line, and admin-only Clear scan history control.
